[CC] Center ~ City
[CC] Center ~ City is a project which
reflects the tension and relations between a city center (»center«)
and shopping suburbs (»BTC city«) in Slovenian capital Ljubljana
by examining variety of programs, accessibility, isolation and limitations…
City center is changing into a fractal conglomerate of small capsules
with an increasing number of differentiated types of limiting access to
semi-public and public spaces. On the other hand, the shopping area BTC
(»city«) is developing new types of urbanity conceived exclusively
with a purpose to motivate visitors for immediate consumption.
[CC] Center ~ City highlights the potential trends of
closing and restricting access to public spaces. In some wider sense it
re-opens the discussion on what kind of urbanity, what kind of quality
of life the city of Ljubljana is offering to its inhabitants.
