SPATIAL ASPECTS - site, infrastructure and temporaneity of architectual objects

There are two main features related to existing refugee camps: temporaneity and isolation. According to a commonly shared humanitarian opinion that refugees should return to their homes as soon as possible, refugee camps are understood as temporary architectural constructions. Consequently, temporaneity can lead to very bad living conditions in those constructions.
Isolation of camps has been recommended by UNHCR in order to avoid possible tensions between refugees and local population. Our intention is to respect both features but approach them in a way that [] allows for decent living conditions and a new perspective for the territory where the camp is situated.

- policentric structures (local and global; from connection to the immediate environment to virtual public space, local interactive TV, satellite connections with the outside world ...)
- ecological infrastructure - sustainable energy supply
- biodegradable materials for the buildings
